The Land …
In the heart of the Koura caza, our olive groves lie in the breathtaking village “Kaftoun” located along the north bank of the Walnut River [Nahr el Jaouz], right above the Mediterranean. Home of the Theotokos Monastery, dating back to the 11th century which is carved in the red rock cliffs, Kaftoun takes its name after the reference “carved out” in Aramaic.
Known for its olive-rich landscape and superior olive oil, the region perpetuates over the centuries its legacy in preserving our ancestral values and traditions in olive oil production and olive cultivation. From the land of our ancestors, the Canaanites and the Phoenicians, we are dedicated to bringing the finest olive oil to be shared with the world.
Our Promise
Strictly relying on environmentally friendly, pesticide-free, and organic practices, Canaan 2.32 olive oil is exclusively sourced from our family owned olive groves. Our cultivars include “Souri” and “Ayrouni” varieties, growing in white soil that is rich in clay, which gives our extra virgin olive oil its distinct and complex Mediterranean flavors punctuated by notes of bitter peppery and fruity aromas.
At the start of every autumn, we prepare for our early harvest seasons, a time of bountifulness and harmony in every corner of our village. The olives are handpicked, sorted and immediately transferred to the mill for cold extraction guaranteeing superior quality and exquisite taste. Every harvest brings in new ideas and improvements with a sense of adaptability to maintain the best possible EVOO our land can give.

The Practice
This century-old family practice, came to life under the label of Canaan 2.32 in January 2021. Produced in Koura, a fertile region in Northern Lebanon known for its abundance of olive trees, mainly the Olea Europea variety, this extra virgin olive oil comes from organically-grown and cold-pressed olives to preserve the natural fragrances of the terroir.
